Many courses have now subscribed to the new mid season, which in some cases extends to the end of February. The mid season, which didnít exist a few short years ago, could well be a pre-cursor to a general trend to make golf tourism on the coast more competitive. The regular stableford competitions organized by Golf Leisure Breaks, are an excellent barometer for measuring the ups and downs of golf tourism and it is already clear that these special mid-winter offers are becoming popular, not only with visiting golfers, but with many of those who live here on the coast. Mondays (Sta. Maria), Wednesdays (Parador) and Fridays (Calanova) have all seen competitions fully subscribed during December and January and it is no coincidence that all three clubs have substantially reduced their green fees during this period.
