ENJOY YOUR SUMMER GOLF, BUT TAKE CARE
Golf in the sunshine can be a dream come true if you hale from northern Europe, but a word of warning. Although buggies offer a degree of shelter from direct sunlight, dehydration can be the enemy, so it pays to follow these simple steps:- take plenty of water with you (defintely not beer or any alcoholic drink). Exposed skin should be generously covered with high-factor sun cream. A wide brimmed hat to keep the sun off the nape of the neck helps to prevent sunstroke, as does a small wet towel to wear like a scarf between shots. You can then enjoy driving round the course with a refreshing breeze unhindered by a windscreen keeping you cool between shots, a privilege unavailable to the tour pros, who are obliged to plod round the course however high the mercury goes. But if you follow their exploits on TV, you will notice that they take all the precautions mentioned previously.
To enjoy your summer golf at even lower green fees, why not book through Golf Leisure Breaks, or better still, join us in one of our regular friendly stableford competions? Details of venues, green fees and pre-booked start times appear elsewhere on this page.
