JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AT LA CALA

La Cala has earned a good reputation for supporting youngsters, all "Junior" hardly seems an apt title for this championship, since the field is limited to under-22s. Bear in mind there are many European Tour players in this age bracket. However, the event, played on the Asia course, produced some excellent golf, with Dean Aassen, the winner of the scratch trophy, shooting a level par round of 72. The joint sponsors were the La Cala Resort, in conjunction with TaylorMade, whose Performance Lab is based at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy within the resort.
