FROM THE SUBLIME.......

While organizing our Golf Leisure Breaks competition recently at the Santa Maria course, it finally dawned on me, after running more than 2,000 of these popular events over the past 15 years, that they really do provide a unique service to regular golfers. In recent years, golf societies have proliferated, most of which are organised by bar owners, for the sole purpose of enticing golfers to drink at their bar.

However, at Sta. Maria, I notice that more than half of those playing with us had been joining us regularly for at least ten years. Although they are not resident here and only visit once or twice a year, they look forward to knowing that they will get a game at a quality course and that they are sure to meet other "regulars".
